Known as nature’s candy, raspberries are loaded with antioxidant power to help keep eyes healthy by providing protection against UV light damage. The antioxidant zeaxanthin filters out harmful blue light rays and is thought to play a protective role in eye health and possibly ward off damage from macula degeneration.

A higher intake of all fruits (3 or more servings per day) has also been shown to help to decrease the risk and progression of macula degeneration.

Foods that have lots of skin have lots of fibre! Eating high-fiber foods help keep blood sugar stable in the management of diabetes. Research shows that type 1 diabetics who consume high-fiber diets have lower blood glucose levels and type 2 diabetics may have improved blood sugar, lipids and insulin levels.
