Office Eyewear

As technology continues to evolve, the way we use our phones, computers, tablets and any other devices are changing at a rapid pace. Studies have shown that the average adult spends 9.3 hours a day looking at any type of screen. We might not realise it, but this extended time on screens can actually have long lasting impacts on us.

Did you know?

  • New Zealanders spend almost 70% (69.7%) of their daily time indoors
  • Presbyopia is set to increase by 2.2 million by 2028
  • Blue light emitted by digital devices suppress the sleep-promoting hormone melatonin, disrupting our natural circadian rhythms

Digital Eye Strain

Digital Eye Strain also known as Computer Vision Syndrome is caused by excessive amounts of time staring at a screen. Every type of screen emits what is called blue light, this blue light can have negative effects on our health including difficulty sleeping, headaches and sore, irritated eyes.

These effects can be deliberating and cause distress from individuals, whilst also not abling employees to reach their full potential, resulting in a reduced rate of productivity at work.
